In collaboration with my longtime friend and photographer Tolga Ünsün, I composed 23 musical miniatures for his series Normandie.
The images evoke a particular sense of stillness—moments suspended between presence and absence, where time seems to slow and settle. Responding to this atmosphere, I wrote a collection of short pieces for various constellations of instruments, from solo voices to larger ensembles and electronics.
Lasting between 30 seconds and two minutes, these miniatures are not intended as accompaniment. Rather, they seek to inhabit the same space as the photographs: silence, memory, and the subtle movement within stillness.
