Fırtına Kıral is drummer, composer and producer whose work spans music for contemporary ensembles, film, media projects, live performances, installations and interdisciplinary collaborations.
Recent projects include music for the Louis Vuitton Foundation via Brawhaus Paris; production of Rift, a soundtrack for a sci-fi universe; The Portrait, Meditations and a Distant Land , a 40' suite for a large ensemble; a spatial composition for 12 metronomes and a chamber ensemble titled Meditations no. II, commissioned works for ViV Woodwind Quintet and KonCon Saxophone Ensemble, a solo piano work for the 58th Spring Festival in The Hague, original music for a jewellery campaign by Evren Kayar and Invisible Cities, an immersive composition for Balkan Karisman's video art presented in Istanbul and Barcelona.
Additionally, he produces original music, develops sonic identities and sound design for creative studios and interdisciplinary projects, collaborating with artists, directors and brands. He creates music that moves fluidly between the screen, concert halls, installations and live settings, embracing each medium as an extension of a single artistic output.
At the heart of Kıral's work is a simple ambition: to create musical experiences that can transport the listener somewhere—to a particular place, feeling or memory—and remain with them long after they first hear it.
Kıral studied Composition, Production and Sound Technologies at Kingston University London and Istanbul Bilgi University, and holds a Master's degree in Jazz Composition from the Royal Conservatoire in The Hague, where he graduated with the Excellence Scholarship and received support from the Corendon Funds.
