IANUA

Ianua is the Latin word for "door." Every performance begins before one is opened and a creative rift lies beyond, where all of my influences and inspirations freely roam. Every door holds the possibility of another world.

IANUA is a creative passage between sound, image, technology, and human gesture. A threshold where composition, improvisation, production, and visual art merge into a constantly evolving language.

Each performance or project is the opening of a new door. Percussive sounds becomeing landscape, electronics become hidden dimensions, and silence becomes a space of discovery.

The destination is never predetermined. The act of crossing is the work itself.

IANUA exists in the space between what is known and what is waiting to be revealed.

IANUA is also a concept for solo performance creative drumming practice where percussion, found objects, bells, electronics, and visual elements converge in an act of exploration. There is no fixed destination and no predetermined narrative. Each performance is approached as the opening of a door into an unknown sonic landscape—one that is discovered rather than constructed.

Improvisation is at the heart of the work. Sound is treated as a living material: struck, resonated, transformed, layered, and allowed to breathe. Acoustic gestures intertwine with electronic processes, creating spaces that are at once intimate and expansive, grounded and elusive.

I treat every sound, spark of inspiration and concept having their own world behind a door. The door is both metaphor and method, it marks the threshold between the familiar and the unforeseen, between intention and accident, between silence and sound. Neither the performer nor the audience knows what lies beyond it until the moment of crossing.

Every performance is a unique passage. Every audience enters a different room.
